Current work, research and interests
Sharon has spent much of her career fostering education in animal science programming. She has given leadership to the state Livestock Quality Assurance and Ethics (LQA&E) program ensuring lessons are age-appropriate and relevant to today's agriculture industry. Since 2002 Sharon has trained over 1,500 adult volunteers who have taught LQA&E to more than 40,000 youth throughout Minnesota. Sharon co-chairs the science of agriculture team and the core animal science team. In animal science, she provides leadership and oversight in the project areas of beef, sheep, swine, and meat goats.
