Horse programs
You can study Animal Science with an Equine Emphasis at the U of M in St. Paul. This program offers a great opportunity for you to obtain a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and sub-specialize in horse science.
The Animal Science program has a close relationship with the College of Veterinary Medicine and advises a Pre-veterinary Club for undergraduates. If you are interested in veterinary medicine, this club can help connect you to students with similar career goals and better prepare you for veterinary college admission.

UMC offers 4-year Bachelor of Science degrees in Equine Science and Equine Business Management. The UMC Equine Science program offers an emphasis in Pre-veterinary studies.
You must complete one internship in the horse industry if you pursue the 4-year program. An internship will give you the opportunity to connect with professionals in the horse industry.

Through U of M and UMC, you can partake in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). The IHSA has a circuit of Hunt Seat and Western shows at various campuses in the Midwest throughout the school year. As a team, students travel to horse shows and compete against riders at a similar level. You can build lifelong friendships and obtain priceless competition experience.
