Tou Yang began working with Extension as a community nutrition educator in 2015. He works with youth, adults, and senior citizens. He primarily works with Southeast Asian communities, but also with East African communities. He speaks two languages fluently: Hmong and English. Tou has over 12 years of foodservice experience working as a cook, server, and cashier. He also helps manage his family’s business as a vendor, selling produce and plants at the local Hmong marketplace.
Tou earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology — Law, Crime, and Deviance from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He has plans to pursue a Masters of Public Health degree in the near future.
