About the Institute for Ag Professionals
For more than two decades, University of Minnesota Extension has worked with retail dealers, crop consultants, sales personnel, and county Extension staff to pass on research-based information relating to crop management.
Keeping ag professionals on top of current production techniques helps to ensure economically and environmentally responsible cropping decisions are made throughout the state.
The Institute offers the Crop Pest Management Short Course (two-day seminar in the winter), the Research Updates for Ag Professionals (several half-day sessions in January in different regions of the state), and the Field School for Ag Professionals (two-day, hands-on-learning school in the summer).
All Institute for Ag Professionals curriculum and teaching is done by Extension specialists (University faculty). Using this train-the-trainer model, five million acres of Minnesota farmland benefit each year.
