Minnesota State Fair Scholarship Program

NEW IN 2014 - Application deadline: Completed applications and supporting materials must be received on or before 4:30 p.m., August 1, 2014

Formally known as the Hallberg Scholarship and designed to recognize the significant contributions of the State Fair Farm Boys' Camp, later Youth Camp, over a span of 82 years. Up to 20 scholarships of $1,000 each will be made available to young adults from greater Minnesota or enrolled in an agriculture program in 2013. A qualified committee will review applications and select the recipients. Announcement of the recipients will be made on the first Friday of state fair at the 4-H Beef Championship held in the Coliseum.

Mr. Hallberg served at every camp from 1939 until his death in 1964. As president of the Camp Alumni Association, his name adds distinction to the program and, in return, signals the fair's genuine regard and affection for the thousands of participants, staff members and adult supervisors who gave so generously of their time, energy and love over so many years.

Guidelines

A qualified committee will review applications and select the recipients. Winners will be announced on these dates:
