4-H volunteer orientation
Orientation is part of the volunteer screening process and an excellent introduction to 4-H for new and prospective volunteers. You will learn how volunteers fit into the larger picture of 4-H and the University of Minnesota, and review our philosophy, policies and procedures.
You can watch all five videos in 30 minutes or watch them one at a time. Once you have completed all five videos, follow the survey link at the bottom of the screen to record your participation and evaluate the orientation.
Unit 1: Our history, mission, pledge, motto and slogan
Unit 2: Creating a positive learning environment with youth
Unit 3: Connecting with staff to choose the best volunteer role for you
Unit 4: Stewardship of the organization and risk management practices
Unit 5: Staff, web and print resources to support volunteers
When you have completed all videos, your participation as part of the screening process will be recorded by completing this survey: click here to access survey
If you are unable to view the videos, the orientation is also available in print and MP3 formats.
