Aquatic Robotics Project
Learn science, technology, engineering and math skills to design and build your own remote-operated vehicle, then adapt it to monitor the water quality of Minnesota's rivers, lakes and streams. Solve scientific questions by designing and carrying out real experiments. Learn about biology by testing the water and observing nearby habitat. Learn about physics through buoyancy and electrical wiring.
Aquatic robotics was rolled out across the state as a new project in 2011. Find out more by contacting your county office.

See the remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) in action in the 4-H Building! 4-H plays a pivotal role in youth development and public education at the Minnesota State Fair. More than 7,000 4-H youth have the opportunity to interact with the public and educate fairgoers through 4-H exhibits, demonstrations, performances, and 4-H promotion. More info
In the news
The Clay County search team is working with the Red River Basin Commission to see if the ROVs can play a role in early detection and rapid response to invasion by zebra mussels and other aquatic invasive species in the Red River Basin. Read the full article.
