Sign up as an independent member
Independent 4-H members do planned learning activities outside of a club setting. Their work is self-directed, with guidance and support from parents and mentors.
To be an independent member, you must be in sixth grade or older and have at least two years of 4-H club experience. Prior 4-H club or group experience helps ensure a basic understanding of 4-H, connections to peers and adults and certain skills built in to the group and club experience.
Independent members must also complete and submit (to your local Extension office) the following forms, designed to strengthen the partnership between the independent 4-H member and their mentor (See mentor resources in our volunteers section).
- Member agreement form
- Yearly progress form (Google doc, which can be downloaded as a PDF or Word doc)
