Current work, research and interests
Karyn works with a team of educators and 4-H program coordinators in the northwest region and has specific regional functions related to quality learning environments, volunteer systems and supervision of staff. She also serves on the Growing 4-H Opportunities Together: Volunteers in Vision and Action leadership team and statewide camp counselor training team. Karyn has worked in 4-H Youth Development for over 20 years, the first 10 years were in a county educator position.
Her work in quality learning environments and volunteer systems bring best practices to local staff and volunteers in developing quality environments for youth to learn and lead. Karyn was a lead developer and is currently giving statewide leadership to Growing 4-H Opportunities Together: Volunteers in Vision and Action, which is a program planning and volunteer system development process. Karyn has extensive teaching experience with youth and adult volunteers and Extension professionals at local, regional and national levels. Karyn focuses on the staff in northwest Minnesota, ensuring they have the skills and resources to be successful in their position.
