Current work, research and interests
Joe Rand is the Extension educator for operations, agriculture and animal science working out of the St. Cloud regional office. Prior to this role, Joe led the Sherburne County 4-H program for four years as the program coordinator. Joe’s work currently focuses on both STEM and diversity and inclusion issues.
Joe is an avid runner and outdoorsman and loves to bike and canoe, as well as spend time at his family cabin on Lake Vermilion in northern Minnesota. Prior to working with 4-H, Joe served as a youth director in three different ELCA churches in the Twin Cities area. He lives in Becker, Minnesota with his partner, two cats, and more than 400 varieties of hosta. Gardening, landscaping, music and theater are his passions.
