This beetle is 5/8 inch long. There is a black oval
spot on each wing cover. |
Where/When: |
Commonly found on flowers, especially goldenrod. Active
from July to September. |
Significance: |
Soldier beetles are general predators, feeding on a wide
variety of small insects. They also eat pollen. |
