Diffenbachia Anthracnose ANTHRACNOSE OF DIFFENBACHIA Anthracnose is one of the most common diseases of foliage plants and can affect many different plants.


Symptoms: Tan to dark brown, roughly circular lesions form on leaves.

General Information
Causal organism: Colletotrichum & Glomerella spp.
Method of dispersal: On air currents or water splashes
Infection point: Leaves, usually through wounds

Control Measures
Control: Isolate diseased plants. Prune out affected leaves, if possible, dipping scissors or knife in 10% bleach solution after each cut. Avoid wetting leaves. Place plants in well-ventilated areas with low humidity and provide adequate space between plants. Do not over-water plants.
