Content page example

This page is part of the program site package. Download the program site package here (54 K ZIP).

Left navigation

This code goes into a file called leftnav.html which is placed in the lib/includes/ folder.

The ASP code (everything between the <% and %>) in this file is what tells the page what sub section list to show. It's based on the URL. If you don't have any sub sections you can remove it.

HTML

<%
	url = Request.ServerVariables("url") + "";
	segments = url.split("/")
%>
<div class="grid_3" id="nav"><a name="mainnav" id="mainnav"></a>
	<ul class="main_nav">
		<li><a href="/program-title/">Program site home</a></li>
		<li><a href="/program-title/section/">Section title</a>
			<%if (segments[2] == "section") {%>
			<ul>
				<li><a href="/program-title/section/sub-section/">Sub section title</a></li>
			</ul>
			<% } %>
		</li>
		<li><a href="/program-title/about/">About the Program title program</a></li>
		<li><a href="/program-title/program-team/">Program title team</a></li>
	</ul>
	<!--module-->
	<div class="module module-option04">
		<form action="http://google.umn.edu/search" method="get" name="gsearch" title="Search Program title">
			<fieldset>
				<legend>Search Program title:</legend>
				<input type="text" name="q" value="" title="Search text" size="20" />
				<input type="submit" value="Go" />
				<input type="hidden" name="site" value="mnext_public" />
				<input type="hidden" name="client" value="mnext_public" />
				<input type="hidden" name="proxystylesheet" value="mnext_public" />
				<input type="hidden" name="output" value="xml_no_dtd" />
				<input type="hidden" name="sitesearch" value="www1.extension.umn.edu/program-title/" />
			</fieldset>
		</form>
	</div>
	<!--/module-->
</div>

Sub section list HTML

Note how section in (segments[2] == "section") matches the folder name in the line above it.

<li><a href="/program-title/section/">Section title</a>
	<%if (segments[2] == "section") {%>
	<ul>
		<li><a href="/program-title/section/sub-section/">Sub section title</a></li>
	</ul>
	<% } %>
</li>
