Project Get Outdoors


U of M Southeast Regional Partnership has supported the development of this program that links youth and caring adult mentors for exploration, play and reflection in nature near home communities so youth will grow to be healthy, comfortable outdoors and knowledgeable and passionate about their land and community.


A National Program Review was conducted in 2013 by U of M recent MS graduate in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy.

Partners over the years for Project Get Outdoors have included: U of MN SE RSDP/Extension, Parks & Trails Council of MN, Conservation Corps of MN & IA, US Fish & Wildlife Service, National Park Service, Sheltering Arms Foundation, Mayo Clinic, THINK Mutual Bank, General Mills, SMIF, IBM, Winona Community Foundation, Rochester Area Foundation, MN DNR, LCCMR – ENRTF, North Face.
