There are small channels to explore through which local farmers can sell products like restaurants, farmers markets, and grocery stores or other retail outlets. Some local institutions, like schools, are interested in buying from local farmers but aren’t quite sure how. A farmers market may be successful overall but occasionally struggle with attracting and keeping customers or vendors. Local food projects may suffer when a vital community leader is no longer be involved or the political will to help local farmers is lacking.
