Cass Lake Area Food Shelf: A New Model

Purpose

The Cass Lake Area Food Shelf is a food bank that serves Cass Lake area community members on a regular basis. The project researched and developed design scenarios for a dedicated food shelf building in Cass Lake, coordinating mobile food distribution to outlying communities, teaching and learning about maintaining an indigenous diet for a population with issues of chronic diabetes, and providing community gardens and a Farmer's Market for the Cass Lake community
