Develop a half day event open to the public with elements of economic development, education, and eco-friendly/sustainable practices that provide healthy alternatives. The event will provide educational presentations and a locally grown meal to further demonstrate the opportunity to work with and support local growers.



  1. Obtain funding
  2. Outline event activities and select tentative date
  3. Secure main presenters
  4. Secure site
  5. Get marketing rates and secure run dates
  6. Devise survey instrument
  7. Contact local growers for meal
  8. Follow up contacts/media


  1. Provide a means for local growers to increase their visibility
  2. Educate attendees on eco-friendly practices
  3. Inspire attendees to change their behavior
  4. Provide resources that educate attendees on topics they might not have access to in Greater Minnesota
  5. Enthuse attendees to start their own eco-friendly small business
  6. Provide a means for networking
