Renter 101: Online Course Registration and Access

You can gain immediate access to this course by following these simple instructions.

1. Download Mozilla Firefox, Adobe Reader, and Adobe Flash Player (8.0 or higher) if you do not already have them on your computer.



Mozilla Firefox is one of two recommended web browsers needed for the registration system but it is the only recommended browser for the online course.  Adobe Flash Player is needed for the course presentations to work properly.

Also, pop-ups are used during the registration process and course. Disable pop-up blockers as needed.

2. Register

Click on the above link to access the College of Continuing Education online registration system.  This system is only compatible with Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer web browsers.

Follow the instructions and provide the required information.  This registration system will:

• Guide you to create a guest username/password to use for the course.  (If you have a UMN x500 username/password, you will be able to skip this step.)
• Collect basic information about you needed by the course instructor.
• Give you the link to immediately access the online course after the above steps have been completed.

3. After you have registered, you can access the online course at anytime.  Remember, you need to use Mozilla Firefox with your Moodle course for it to function properly.  You need to have installed Adobe Flash Player 8.0 or newer for the course presentations to work properly. Also, Moodle (the courseware used for this course) utilizes pop-ups. Disable your browser pop-up blocker to ensure you can access all the course content.

   You may wish to save the direct course link in your internet browser favorites.  Alternatively, you can go to your MyU page, log it with your username/password, and click on your “my COURSES” tab.  This course, in addition to any other UMN online course you have signed up for, will be listed on this web page.  (Please note, there may be up to a 12 hour delay from when you register and when the course appears on your MyU course page.  You should be able to access the online course immediately however by clicking the direct course link.)
