12-spotted lady beetle Appearance: This beetle is 1/5 inch long with 10 spots on its wing covers and two spots on its pronotum (right behind its head).
Where/When: Found in many types of environments, including agricultural fields and gardens.   Active from spring into fall.
Significance: An important natural control agent.   It feeds on aphids.
