Size 1/8 inch (It is often challenging to recognize small-sized beetles from a picture. Because different insects may be treated differently, be sure the insect is correctly identified before attempting control.)
Where/when Can be found indoors at anytime of the year, especially in kitchens and other rooms where dried food products are stored.
Significance This beetle infests many types of dried foods including cereal products (flour, cake mix, cornmeal, rice, pasta, crackers, and cookies), dry pet food, birdseed, chocolate, raisins and other dried fruits, and spices.
