Redlegged Grasshopper
	Size	¾ - 1 inch long (adults)
	Where/when	Nymphs are active from May to September and adults are active from July to September. Feeds on a broad range of plants, including tall grasses and legumes.
	Significance	Generally not a problem in most years. Chews leaves, pods, and other plant parts. Potential to defoliate plants when populations are high. Most likely a problem in late summer when other food sources are scarce. Prolonged dry springs over several years can significantly increase grasshopper numbers.
