Ground Beetle

Ground beetle Photo: Jeff Hahn	Size:	Most are 1/8 - 1¼ inches long. They are usually dark colored, although a few are brightly colored.
	Where/When:	Most occur on the ground in many different habitats. Some are arboreal (prefer trees). Active from spring through summer.
	Significance:	Most species are predaceous on other insects.
