Insect Quiz
|
While in your backyard in late May, you take a look at your ash tree. You find that many of the leaves have whitish or yellowish pinprick-like discolorations on the top of them. Some of the leaves also have browned areas. You remember that a few years ago you also had a lot of leaves falling from your ash at about the same time of the year. You are concerned that the tree could be in trouble. When you take a closer look, you find a small yellowish brown insect that is moving quickly on the underside of some of the leaves.
- What kind of insect was seen on the ash?
- How seriously can it affect ash trees?
- Is this likely to cause leaves to fall?
- How can you treat the tree for this problem?
