Become a volunteer

Becoming a volunteer in the program is easy, but it does require a substantial time commitment.

Interested adults complete the 40-hour volunteer certification course, which is a mixture of classroom learning and field trips. The cost is $200; scholarships are available.

After this, Master Naturalists complete at least 40 hours of volunteer service per year to maintain active status.

To get started, create an account on the Minnesota Master Naturalist site. Then log in and choose the class you wish to take.
