Parent Nutrition Newsletters
A series of 6 newsletters intended for parents of 3rd -6th grade children receiving nutrition education in school about healthy foods and beverages for meals including breakfast, snacks, and at fast food restaurants.  Each newsletter contains background information about specific nutrition topics, interactive activities for parents to complete with their children, suggestions for conversations parents can have with children about foods and health, and an easy recipe for children to try at home.

Sports Nutrition Handouts for Coaches, Student-Athletes, and Parents
A set of 4 educational handouts on sports nutrition that serve as a general resource for experienced or new high school athletic coaches, their respective student-athletes and parents.  The main goal of the handouts is to increase awareness of the importance of sports nutrition and to provide information for eating before, during, and after competition.  The handouts include guidelines and/or suggestions that can be copied for educational purposes.

Parent’s Guide to Nutritious Food for the Classroom (PDF)
A guide for parents when planning classroom parties and school wide events including a list of recommended foods that can be served allowing children to make healthy choices at school.

This handout gives a variety of suggestions for non-food items directed toward fundraising efforts and lists healthy food options for fundraising activities.

The Power of 3: Get Healthy with Whole Grain Foods (PDF)
