4-H clover Youth Spotlight: Ella L.

This week's spotlight features 4-H'er Ella L.! She is a grade thirteen member who has been in 4-H since kindergarten, and is a member of the Wild River Pioneers club. Ella is involved in the poultry, quilting, food preservation, swine, vegetable gardening, and shop/woodworking projects. She has held roles of club president, animal science committee president, poultry committee president and Isanti County Ambassador.

Ella's favorite 4-H event is B-BOP. She says, "I have been going to it since my sisters attended as Ambassador Leaders and now I get to teach after learning from them." Her favorite 4-H memory is the time that she and her sisters all qualified for the state fair and got to show poultry together.

4-H has made an impact on Ella by teaching her leadership and public speaking skills. She also gained interview skills through her interactions with judges and volunteers. Ella also says that adult volunteers have helped raise and guide her through her time in 4-H. She added, "I feel like I have a lot of parents!"

What is Ella's advice for anyone considering joining 4-H? "It's a fun adventure where you will learn in your project areas while meeting people and learning skills you will always remember. And you will build lifelong friendships!"
