4-H clover Animal Science ID time is here

Families enrolled in Animal Science projects have received a detailed mailing regarding the 4-H Animal Science ID Deadline. 4-H'ers who would like to exhibit beef, dairy, dog, goat, horse, llama, rabbit, sheep, or swine at the County Fair, must have them identified and entered into 4-HOnline by May 15. We are asking Becker County families to make a personal goal deadline of May 8 (State deadline is May 15) to have all their livestock information recorded into 4HOnline. We in the office want to provide quality assistance for our county families and we need time to do so.

Steps to Identifying a 4-H project animal

  1. Locate your County ID letter, the Project Information Sheet and the ID worksheet(s), sent to all members enrolled in the project or contact your county extension office local.extension.umn.edu. These are also available online at: z.umn.edu/mn4hanimalID
  2. Place tag order by calling 218-846-7328 or emailing perri015@umn.edu  and then make appointment to pick up.  Tag and ID your animals, collecting the ID data on the worksheet
  3. Log in to your family account at mn.4honline.com. For assistance with 4-H Online, visit z.umn.edu/mn4honline-animals
  4. Locate the youth you want to ID an animal for and click [View]. (Please DO NOT enter the same animal under more than one member. Animals can be changed between family members up until they arrive at the county fair, at which time a specific family member will declare the animal they are showing.)
  5. Click on [Add an Animal] then click [Add New Animal] – OR – click on a previously ID’d animal.
  6. Provide the requested information and file uploads
  7. Select the desired Animal Type and provide the requested information and file uploads.
  8. Return ALL unused and/or damaged ear tags to your extension office.

Any questions feel free to call the Elliott or Linda at the Becker County Extension Office at 218-846-7328.
