Color tips for the web

• Think of white.
  • best choice for background color
  • offers the most contrast
  • loads fastest

• Next add black.
  • highest contrast to white
  • first choice for type

• Red is a good accent color.
  • great way to accent black and white
  • contrasts well

• Color is information. Use it where it has meaning.

• Simple is better. Not only does it look better, it loads faster.

• Keep colors to a minimum. Don't use them all just because you can.

• Remember that background colors don't print.
  • white text on a black background prints nothing
  • if your viewer will be printing your information, make sure there is black text on a white background
