Boolean Searching

Boolean searching also gives you a lot of control over how you conduct searches. Boolean searching consists of the operators AND, AND NOT, OR, and parentheses. We use these operators to control which words should or should not appear in our matched pages.

Boolean Search What it Does
dog AND water AND spaniel Increases your chance of retrieving pages about the water spaniel dog breed.
spaniel AND NOT cocker Removes pages about cocker spaniels from your search
spaniel AND (obedience OR training) Finds pages that contain "spaniel" and also contain either "obedience" or "training"
