Logging in to WebCT

hardrule

To prevent other people from posting messages to the bulletin board with your name, taking tests for you, or viewing your grades, WebCT uses a password-entry system.

Accessing your account is simple:

  • Log in to the class, as described below.
  • Keep your password confidential.
  • Remember to quit your browser when you finish working with the course. Your password is valid as long as your browser is open. Simply leaving the WebCT course will not cancel your login. You must exit the browser: From the File menu, choose Quit or Exit.

Logging in to your course website

Logging in to your course website requires a different process than logging in to Learning with the Web. To log in to your course website, follow these steps:

  1. Get your username and password information from your course materials.
  2. In your browser's location bar, enter the address for WebCT. This will bring you to the WebCT log on page
  3. Click logon to WebCT.
  4. The browser will begin loading and ask you for a WebCT ID and password, using an interface that will look similar to this:
  5. Type in your WebCT ID
  6. Press the TAB key
  7. Type in your password
  8. Click the OK or Log on button. Your myWebCT page will then load. It will include links to all the sites you have access.

After you have logged into WebCT, you won't have to log in again, unless you quit your browser.
