We invite you to attend YOUth and U 2008 on February 5-6 at the Holiday Inn, 75 South 37th Avenue, St. Cloud. The theme of this year’s conference is Youth & U 2008 - Under the Big Top!.

“YOUth and U” is designed for 4-H Youth Development Capacity Area Program faculty and staff. It is an excellent staff development opportunity that all are expected to attend..

Who sponsors YOUth and U?
Funding for YOUth and U is provided by Center for 4-H & Community Youth Development and the Minnesota 4-H Foundation. The conference is planned by a team of County, Regional and State staff representing the Youth Development Capacity Area.

Keynote Speaker:

We welcome Dr. Steve Van Bockern to YOUth & U 2008. Dr. Van Bockern is co-author of the Circle of Courage, a model of positive youth development first described in the book Reclaiming Youth at Risk: Our Hope for the Future. The Circle of Courage model integrates Native American philosophies of child-rearing, the heritage of early pioneers in education and youth work, and contemporary resilience research. Dr. Van Bockern is Professor of Education at Augusta, in Sioux Falls, a senior training for Life Space Crisis Intervention, Hagerstown, Maryland, and is President of Reclaiming Youth International, Lennox, South Dakota.

Regional Team Baskets: Regional teams are asked to bring a basket once again this year for our Under the Big Top-The Greatest Show on Earth evening event. Please review the information carefully as there are some changes from previous years.
