- Prairie and landscape plantings, and lawns (occasionally)
- Tolerant of nutrient-poor soil
Characteristics:
- Perennial with upright stems 3-4’ tall
- Leaves are narrow and dark green
- Leaf edges are irregularly lobed and arranged alternately along stem
- Leaves at top of plant are smaller than lower leaves
- White, daisy-type flowers with distinct yellow centers bloom early to mid-summer
- Shallow fibrous root system along with thick, succulent rhizomes (underground stems)

- Minnesota Secondary Noxious Weed that spreads by seeds and rhizomes
