Found in:

• Lawns and landscape beds
• Thrives on nutrient rich, moist soil

Characteristics:

• Low growing perennial (or sometimes annual), 6-8” tall
• Thin, green stems grow upright or slightly trailing
• Stems may root where the nodes (joints) touch the ground
• Clover-like trifoliate (3 leaflets), heart-shaped leaves are joined at the point on each leaf
• Yellow flowers with five petals that bloom May to Sept.
• Fibrous roots along with rhizomes (underground stems)

Significance:

• Difficult to control
