Locust borer
Size: 3/4 inch long.

Where/When: Most commonly found indoors during winter although can be found at other times of the year.

Significance: Is associated with black locust wood. Can be brought indoors in firewood or lumber in construction projects. Is harmless to people. Can cause cosmetic damage to wood from which it emerges but fortunately it does not re-infest wood.
