Size: Up to 1 inch long

Where/When: Feeds on several composites including black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia), coreopsis, sunflowers (Helianthus), New England aster, and Echinacea (coneflower). Active from late May until mid-June.

Significance: Presence of many gregarious caterpillars may eventually defoliate plants.
