  • Leaf spots are first shiny dark green and water-soaked
  • Older leaf spots are angular, papery brown, and may appear translucent
  • Greasy green to gray spots or blotches develop on pods
  • A sticky slime of bacterial ooze may form on leaf spots or surround the pea seeds when wet
  • Severely infected plants may drop blossoms or young pods, turn brown, or die
  • Disease is most severe when frequent rain or sprinkler irrigation are present
