Larger yellow ant

Yellow ant

Don Breneman

Size: 3/16 inch long. (It is often challenging to recognize ants from a picture. Because different species may be treated differently, be sure an ant problem is correctly identified before attempting control).

Significance: Nests in the soil under objects, including concrete slab construction of home. Workers infrequently seen in homes. Winged ants may be commonly seen during the year.
