Serve It Up Safely™ online courses are a convenient, effective way to meet the State of Minnesota's four-hour requirement for renewing food manager certification.

The course uses a combination of videos, activities, case studies, quizzes, downloadable resources, and more to keep you engaged as you move through the modules.
Time and cost
The amount of time the online course will take you depends on the number of hours you need to get recertified. The State of Minnesota requires four hours every three years for food manager re-certification. If you need all four hours, choose the full course at $75. If you need fewer hours because you received some qualifying renewal hours elsewhere, you may wish to choose individual course modules a la carte. Each are $25 and take 1 hour to complete.
Once you've started a course module, you have ninety days to complete it. You will receive a certificate of completion for 1 hour for each module you complete. Once you have meet the 4 hours of continuing education requirement, you need to send copies of the certificates with your renewal application.
