Squash
Squash offers endless nutritious opportunities.
- Squash is very nutritious food containing no fat or cholesterol, high fiber, and vitamins A and C, as well as other natural plant chemicals that may help prevent cancer.
- Squash are native to North America. They belong to the plant family called Cucurbitae that contains melons and cucumbers, and come in many different shapes and colors.
- Varieties of winter squash include acorn, banana, buttercup, butternut, calabaza, delicata, golden nugget, hubbard, spaghetti, sweet dumpling, turban, and pumpkin.
