Bison
Bison is a healthy alternative to beef
- Native Americans called the bison “Tatonka.”
- At one time, bison subspecies ranged from the Great Slave Lake in Canada's far north to Mexico in the south, and from eastern Oregon almost to the Atlantic Ocean. The two bison subspecies are the plains bison and the wood bison.
- Nutritionally, bison meat provides protein and other nutrients with less fat and calories than the same amount of beef.
