Effective Family Engagement Workshop
Are you a school administrator, teacher, or staff who is wondering what the Every Student Succeeds Act will mean for your work? Are you looking for proven strategies for better engaging families and communities in your school and district? Then the Education: Our Best Legacy Train the Trainer Workshop: Effective Family Engagement Workshop is for you!
By attending the Effective Family Engagement Workshop, you will:
- Get a brief overview of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and the links between educators, families, and community engagement that support student achievement.
- Increase your awareness of what effective family engagement is.
- Learn strategies for intentionally engaging families and their communities at the school and district through multiple levels.
The workshop is intended for school teams consisting of a school administrator and 2-4 other school team members. District leaders and other educational partners would also benefit from attending this workshop.
This hands-on, interactive workshop is designed to inspire teams to form learning partnerships that will enhance student performance.
A certificate of completion will be available after the workshop.

The University of Minnesota Extension Center for Family Development is partnering with the Minnesota Department of Education to offer the following Effective Family Engagement Workshops.
All workshops will be in English and will take place between 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. The cost is for each workshop is $30/person, which includes lunch.
