The Dollar Works 2 curriculum includes several resources to aid in evaluating programs and meeting educational goals. Program instructors decide what evaluation process is most appropriate given the educational setting.
General information (number of participants, etc.) and the participant (“learner”) response to the learning environment (room set-up, time of the program, and general feelings about the learning experience, etc.). A tool for gathering this level of information is not included in the curriculum as sponsoring agencies/groups usually provide their own tool for this information. If no tool is available, learners can be asked to provide additional comments on the end-of-unit or end-of-series evaluations that are enclosed with the curriculum.
Learner response about immediate outcomes including their attitude on learning, new knowledge gained, and their intent to use new skills. With intermediate outcomes learners respond about potential change in their behavior. Use the end-or-unit or end-of-series evaluation tool(s) to gather this level of evaluation data. In order to accurately assess intermediate outcomes, you generally need to have three or more hours of training in an educational setting with the learner.
Learner response about how they have actually changed their behavior. Use the pre- and 4-to-6 week post-assessment tool to gather information about the actual change of behavior. These can be adapted for the specific program goals and units taught during the series.
Online Data Collection and Reporting System
An exciting feature of the curriculum is the Dollar Works 2 Online Data Collection and Reporting System. There are two benefits for using the system:
- By entering data, you will have the option to print out analyzed evaluation reports that are customized just for you. If you hold a series trainings, print out a report that summarizes all your trainings together. If several people in your organization do Dollar Works 2 trainings, you can print off a report that summarizes the trainings held in your organization (or your county, region, etc.). These reports can be an invaluable tool for seeking grants, surveying continued needs for programming, or in documenting your work for performance reviews.
- Within the Extension Center for Family Development, we will use the data that is entered to make improvements to Dollar Works 2. Being able to continually improve the program will give you a better overall product to use with your clients.
Accessing the system is easy! Click the link below:

With the 2009 printing of Dollar Works 2, slight changes were made to the Dollar Works 2 evaluations. Changes are being made to the online reporting system to match these new evaluations. If you have used the older versions of the evaluations and want to enter data into the online reporting system, you will still be able to without any difficulties. If, however, you are about to start a new program, please print off the newer versions of the evaluations using the following links. They will allow you to utilize all of the reporting fields in the online reporting system.
