Cooking is a SNAP
Cooking is a SNAP is an in-person culinary nutrition education course where participants practice food preparation skills to make cooking and eating at home easier and more rewarding. In this course, participants also practice a variety of ways to increase daily physical activity, and share smart shopping strategies to help save money in the family food budget.
Past participants in this course report:
- Eating more fruits and vegetables.
- Eating less saturated fat, sodium, and added sugar.
- Increased confidence to shop for and prepare healthier meals at home.
- Achieving the recommended 30 minutes of physical activity most days of the week.
