Roberto Martinez Sanchez started at Extension as a community nutrition educator in 2015. He is committed to transforming the lives of families through nutrition education. He specializes in presenting nutrition education topics in Spanish through home visits or in small group settings. Prior to joining Extension, Roberto facilitated food safety trainings at East Side Neighborhood Services (ESNS) to participants seeking employment, as well as assisting residents of the city of Minneapolis with job searches. Prior to ESNS, Roberto worked for 15 years in the foodservice industry as a crew trainer and supervisor.

Roberto is currently pursuing a degree in Human Resource Development at the University of Minnesota. He completed an associate of applied science degree in business management from Normandale community college and Minneapolis Community & Technical College. He is certified by the Minnesota Department of Health to facilitate conversations on food safety-related topics. He is also certified as a career development facilitator by the Center for Credentialing & Education.
