Nicole Helgeson joined University of Minnesota Extension June 2016 as a graduate research assistant to perform GIS (Geographic Information Systems) mapping to aid work in the Health and Nutrition program area. Prior to Extension, Nicole worked in Santiago, Chile, as an assistant with geographers, supporting their research in urban planning, environmental justice, and other issues in the country. She also worked as a marketer for a technology company, focusing on business development and implementing social media strategies. Nicole is fluent in Spanish.
Nicole is pursuing a Master of Geographic Information Science degree at the University of Minnesota.
