Stormwater U

Education for Stormwater Professionals and Communities

University of Minnesota Extension educators and specialists help protect water quality by teaching design and building best practices to reduce the environmental impacts of stormwater runoff.

Stormwater U provides research-based, locally tailored workshops for local governments and stormwater professionals, including contractors, developers, engineers, and field staff.

Workshops focus on relevant stormwater issues that directly influence how we live in our communities. Our courses help Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) operators, such as cities and watersheds, meet their stormwater permit minimum control measure requirements. All courses include presentations, hands-on learning, and peer discussions.

This video from the Stormwater Practices and Maintenance Core Course, led by the University of Minnesota Extension, is a great introduction to research and policies on stormwater.
