About the Housing Technology program

Our goal is to improve long-term quality, efficiency, environmental health, and durability of homes and residential buildings in Minnesota and other cold climate regions of the United States.

We train builders, contractors, public health officials, home inspectors, and other housing professionals. A main focus is radon abatement, and our courses teach radon measurement and mitigation to professionals preparing for the National Radon Certification Exam.

For homeowners and other property owners, we offer education in reducing energy use, assessing indoor air quality, and managing moisture in basements. We also help people prevent and recover from damage caused by Minnesota’s extreme weather events.
