Master Naturalist

Support conservation efforts throughout Minnesota! This program is a joint effort of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and University of Minnesota Extension. The program benefits the state through direct environmental service and by educating Minnesota's citzens about its natural resources. Master Naturalists are trained to be stewards of our natural environment and to teach these skills to others. If you enjoy hiking, bird watching, following tracks, or identifying wildflowers, you'll love being a volunteer.

These instructors can teach the initial volunteer training course as well as lead continuing education initiatives for Master Naturalist volunteers. More about instructors...

After training, Master Naturalists carry out at least 40 hours of volunteer service per year in these four basic areas:

To get started, create an account on the Minnesota Master Naturalist site. Then log in and choose the class you wish to take.
