The Midwest Composting School 2009 features an intensive three-day program that will train participants in the science of composting, handling feedstocks, enhancing compost quality, sampling and analytical processes, environmental regulations, application rates, source separated food waste and understanding compost markets. The school focuses on a combination of hands-on training, lecture and discussion, facility operator panel discussions, and problem solving.
This three-day school will be held at the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, MN from June 8 through June 10, 2009. Certificates will be provided to the participants upon successful completion of the school. Facilities include air-conditioned classrooms, on-site parking, and quick, easy access to all demonstration areas.
This school is a collaborative effort between the University of Minnesota, Iowa State University, MPCA, Carver County, and R.W. Farms.
