This unit of the Simply Good Eating curriculum addresses basic nutrition principles and physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle, how to get key nutrients in one’s diet, the importance of eating breakfast, and how to choose healthier, lower-fat, and lower-cost breakfast foods, snacks, and fast foods. The package includes the curriculum manual, users guide, reproducible handouts, a set of 35 colorful comparison cards both of which are also included on the CD, and two sets of recipe cards. Activities are highly adaptable to the needs and interests of a diverse range of participants. Complies with the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and MyPyramid. Recommended for EFNEP and FSNEP staff, other nutrition educators, and teachers.
